A small Placentia kitchen with a very large extended family.Una pequeña cocina de Placentia con una familia muy grande.

Historia en español próximamente.

We opened at 1868 N Placentia Ave in December 2001. The B is for Benito, the C for Calixtro. Those first years were brutal, and Calixtro went on to start his own gardening business — then another C stepped in: Chuy.

For years the two of them worked around a second job at a steakhouse down the road. Chuy cleaned it at dawn and was on our griddle by lunch; Benito opened up here in the morning and went there in the afternoon. That is what the first decade of this restaurant actually looked like.

Somewhere along the way the catering took on a life of its own. The cart has now cooked at more than a thousand events across Southern California — weddings, quinceañeras, graduations, office lunches, church fundraisers, and more than a few funerals. Same food. We just bring the griddle to you.

  1. Dec 2001

    Benito and Calixtro

Two names over one door on 1868 N Placentia Ave — the B and the C. It is still the same address and still the same family.

  2. The hard part

    A second C

Calixtro went on to build his own gardening business, and Chuy came in. He and Benito split their days around a steakhouse down the road — one cleaning it at dawn, the other working it in the afternoon.

  3. A volleyball game

    The cart starts rolling

Gary Fairfield's son was coaching volleyball at El Dorado High School, and Gary asked us to feed it. That was the first one. Then people wanted us at their houses, then more schools across Placentia and Yorba Linda, then Brea, then Orange — a lot of it fundraising.

  4. Now

    Twelve at once

Benito still owns it and is here every single day. Mario took over the day-to-day about ten years ago. Between them the team runs up to twelve events at the same time and keeps a full restaurant going with them — and for 25 years, every one of those customers arrived by word of mouth.

Gary Fairfield

Gary volunteered with us for fifteen years after that first volleyball game. He was retired and he never took a dollar for any of it — he said he only wanted to stay busy. He passed on 27 February 2025.

What hasn't changedLo que no ha cambiado

Three rules we have never broken.Tres reglas que nunca hemos roto.

Cooked in front of youCocinado frente a ti

Everything comes off the griddle on-site. No trays ferried across town, no warmers, no food that has been sitting since this morning.Todo sale de la plancha ahí mismo. Nada de charolas que cruzan la ciudad, nada de calentadores, nada de comida que lleva ahí desde la mañana.

Nobody stands in lineNadie se queda haciendo fila

We show up early and we serve fast. The point of a taco cart is that your guests eat within minutes of asking — not that they queue through the toast.Llegamos temprano y servimos rápido. La idea de un carrito de tacos es que tus invitados coman a los pocos minutos de pedir — no que se pasen el brindis en la fila.

We do not run outNo se nos acaba la comida

Generous portions, every guest fed, seconds for whoever wants them. Running short at somebody’s wedding is the one mistake you cannot fix afterwards.Porciones generosas, todos los invitados comen y hay para repetir. Quedarse corto en la boda de alguien es el único error que no se puede arreglar después.

“Mario and his crew kept the lines moving — no one went hungry!”
